glyphs ftw

but none is better than the other,
it all depends on wutchu wanna do

in the most generalised answer,
be ele if u want to have glyphs,
or be monk if u want to have a res spell

other than that, i cant offer any advice on builds unless u get more specific on wut kind of necro u want to have

jus read skill lists from here or guildwiki and jus look for ones that u can combine together

that or jus try one out and experiment

Ive been running a N/E character using blood magic and glyphs and have found it to be quite effective.
Havn't got anything to compare it to but its not bad at all

I don't have a N/E, but here is a theoretical build that might be good.

Totally Touchy Build

Vampiric Touch/Bite (Blood)
Vile Touch (Death)
Plague Touch (None)
Burning Speed (Fire)
Virulence (e) (Death)
Vile Miasma (Blood)
Glyph of Lesser Energy (None)
Res Signet

Use Burning Speed to get to your foe (use plague Touch to transfer burning to them). Virulence, then Vile Miasma, Vile Touch, Vampiric Bite/Touch. Glyph is used when cast high energy used spells.

You dont need plague touch to set them on fire. Burning speed set's "adjacent" foes on fire when it ends for 3-8 seconds I've used it many times when running through minnions in AB, it's funny to run into a group and set them all ablaze, then follow up with inferno!

Personally, i dont like glyphs much (even on my ele), but i could see them being a decent e-mangement for some other classes, like monks using divine spirit.

Yes its true that when it ends Burning Speed will set adjacent enemies on fire, however, why not give them burning when you have burning speed on? I mean why should you suffer burning when you can burn them and continue the burning when it ends?

Offering of Blood will be your only e-management skill then (better than Well of Power), of course Soul Reaping is the best E-management attribute in the game.

I never use glyphs with my monk (Mo/E) because its not useful enough for me.

Anyone ever try this? It seems that burning speed is an enhancement spell. So, when burning speed is over, does the enemy get burned the additional 9 seconds as well?

Yes, Burning Speed will inflict you with Burning condition and when it ends, foes adjacent to you suffer burning as well. So use Plague Touch to send the burning on you to them. Then when your speed stops, foes around you get hit with burning (again).

Only problem is it's only 5 seconds, which you can maybe get one plague touch off which the duration by that time is maybe 2-3 seconds. Since plague touch transfers a negative condition and it's duration to touched foes. Whats really nice about burning speed is if you have a monk exstinguish it right away you still have the speed boost, again though, it's only 5 seconds of "run like hell" speeds... 48% faster @ 16 fire magic. It's funny as anything to see an ele blazing across the map, reminds me of wb cartoons.

That is true, but with plague touch, you touch your foe and transfer 2 seconds of burning, then you encase your foe with Grasping Earth. By then your speed is gone, and your adjacent foe(s) are hit with burning. The poor soul encased in rock that is cooking from the after effects of Burning Speed can move only 10% of his/her/its' own normal speed. You can walk away and say, "what is that lovely smell coming from that make shift kiln?" Lol, lets turn that sand golem into a ceramic tile.

ok i posted an answer or my answer to the N/ele question in the N/R thread but here it goes my lvl 20 N/Ele's build before i switched to N/Me. Its mostly support.
1. Life Siphon
2. Barbed Sig
3. Unholy Feast
4. Vamp Touch/Well Of Blood
5. Firestorm/Incendiary Bonds
6. Metoer Shower
7. Flare
8. Res Sig
The build keeps you pretty well healed but the recharge time will kill you. Meteor shower and firestorm are really good if you have some Tanks to hold the enemy attention and Flare is useful to cover yourself if the enemies start to get close.
But after ascention i switched to N/Mes and run the Thorns Build but slightly tweaked:
1. Insidious Parasite/mantra of resolve
2. Parasitic Bond
3. Suffering
4. Spiteful Spirit
5. Price of Failure
6.Spirit of failure
7. Energy Tap
8. Ether Feast
This kinda helps out the lack of self heals that the build has as well as really being a pain to tanks and monks. But my only dislike is the lack of damage spells, but im coming off of a massive damage necro.

For PvE go with the N/Ele or tweak my version of Thorns.
But for PvP/G go with the N/Mes, you might die alot if you get too close but if you stay with the monks and rangers in the back you wont do badly
